Now, I see what you mean at the 8:06min mark, but at the 11:12min mark, notice the black-out grid covering the bottom half of the screen. And at 11:43min mark, the whole rover is visible alone, again.

Is there another rover already up there, that we re-activated, from an earlier landing?

Not known. But I think they staged the pictures on earth to possibly get a better picture, and a bigger effect on the viewer to try to sell the public on the need for funds to the space agency as they are hurting financially. Obama killed them by cutting their funding by 20% in 2013. If they produced some lousy pictures, who wants to support a questionable program?

And of course the destroying of the inability to colonize the planet by the liberal hero Bill Nye, is not helping their cause much either.
