A Christmas music video to make you grateful to get a hanky and socks this Christmas.
PING
Platters, my favourite old group!
(any chance of same song in a live performance video?)
thanks either way!
Merry Christmas
fhc
Any day now, we will hear leftists screaming about the lyrics of this song mention the ‘J’ word; thus, cannot be tolerated!
Merry Christmas!
OOPS! “C” word, not “j” word...
This song is insensitive for the dentally challenged!!!
This song is insensitive to meth addicts too.
From the same era as the Platters...
“René and Georgette Magritte with Their Dog After the War” - Studio Demo Acoustic Version - PAUL SIMON

“And what do you think
They have hidden away
In the cabinet cold of their hearts?
The Penguins, the Moonglows
The Orioles, and The Five Satins
For now and ever after
As it was before
Rene and Georgette Magritte
With their dog after the war”
thanks. (nice, tho I am not sure I understand the message>)
the Platters were my favorite group, there are several of their live songs on u-tube including....

All I want for Christmas is Chuckie S’s two front teeth.
This song should be banned from the airwaves since there are many people who would find it offensive due to their not having dental insurance......
The Happiest of Happy Christmases, hetero. May you never have to wish for front teeth, back teeth or canines, however furry.
I kinda took as Paul Simon’s homage to groups like the Platters, etc. I’ve read/heard interviews where Simon acknowledges his love for that music - esp the harmonies that were in many S&G songs.
The video I posted was an acoustic demo of a song on his album, “Hearts & Bones”.
WIKI:
The song is about the surrealist artist René Magritte and his wife Georgette. The title derives from a photograph of the Magrittes and their dog in Belgium by photographer Lothar Wolleh.
He took two photographs of them: one, “René and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog During the War”, was a black and white photo, purportedly from the World War II era, but likely taken during the 1960s. The second, “René and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog”, was taken in their home in Belgium in 1967.
Since what I do is put video to lyrics to reinterpret the meaning of the lyrics, that wouldn’t be my thing. I make these thingies. But I’d be surprised if something like that wouldn’t be available on YouTube.
But my dentist probably plays it non-stop.
How nice to leave such a lovely image in my mind. Can’t think of someone who deserves a spaghetti hole more than he.
Would that there WERE a dental insurance that actually dented the dental bills.
I see. Thanks !
Thanks. I will look again.
