Tillerson may have high IQ points but not the wisdom part.

Absolutely, LJ. It is very often the case that high "intelligence" (IQ) doesn't result in real world "intelligence".

So-called "smart people's" brains often work "well" but not "correctly". Amirite, Jocko?

I'll take "street smarts" every time.

p.s. If one's thinking leads to the wrong conclusions time and time again, is one truly "intelligent"?

Another thing I was thinking - Trump’s attack on Tillerson was pretty heavy, but it was after Tillerson really was nasty I guess in an interview, really nasty.

Then I remembered when Tillerson got the boot - he was in Kenya, and going to stay longer, and Trump recalled him and fired him.

Maybe he was dealing with Kenya or (other?) directly against Trump’s plan, doing his own thing, maybe even subverting.

I think you are spot on about IQ vs wisdom vs common sense, Bags.

I think wisdom comes via the school of hard knocks IF one is paying close attention and has a teachable spirit and attitude. Arrogant folks do not have such a teachable spirit or attitude.

Therefore, they tend to collect habits of thought and reaction that are very flawed. They don't collect data objectively enough. They don't evaluate the data objectively enough devoid of their emotional biases. And they don't reach conclusions objectively enough.

They have a great RAD generated compulsion to CONTROL people and situations and to have both people and situations conform the world to the arrogant actor's constructions on reality--regardless of how farcical and out of touch with true reality.

I think your observations about such are quite accurate from my experiences & observations.

Actually, folks with serious degrees of RAD have literal physiological brain damage in two main areas. 1) the area managing emotional expression and 2) the area managing relationships--i.e. relationships with other people.

I believe those physiological deficits impact wisdom a lot--in a negative way.

My favorite adage for this is:

>> Educated way beyond their intelligence "
