In a record for diversity at the annual Golden Globes Awards, four of the 10 nominees in the two Best Picture categories this year have non-white directors.
Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman,” Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther,” Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk” all were recognized in the Best Picture-Drama category, while John M. Chu’s “Crazy Rich Asians” made the cut in the Best Picture – Comedy or Drama competition.
Of these, only Lee received a nomination for Best Director, where he was joined by the Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón for “Roma” — which as a foreign-language film was not eligible in the Globes’ Best Picture – Drama category.
The other directing nominees are Bradley Cooper for “A Star Is Born,” Peter Farrelly for “Green Book” and Adam McKay for “Vice.”
Last year, Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” and Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” were both recognized in the top drama and comedy categories, respectively. Del Toro wound up winning the directing prize, though “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “Lady Bird” took the picture prizes.

Hollywood doesn’t like Jackie Chan.
They re-edited (music and timing and dialogue) of all of his films when they imported movies that had been hits around the globe, not just in Asia.
They also only were willing to cast Hong Kong action stars in movies if they were paired with a “box office draw” American actor or actress.
It’s not about building up, it’s about tearing down. Same with all the socialist, radical revolutionaries. They want to tear down so that they can build something else over the ruins. But it never gets to the point where they’re ready to build. The egg breaking never stops. You cannot separate the end from the means.

Screw Hollywood - I enjoy Jackie Chan movies......the morality he seems to espouse must be why they hate him.
Problem is Hollyweird bought up US rights to his films, sat on them, then butchered them for home video and forced Hong Kong to stop putting English subtitles on the original versions.
I think that limitation has since been lifted but his work has been harmed greatly by racist Hollywood. The Hong Kong action films from 1991-1997 were far better than the Die Hards and Lethal Weapons and other derivative franchises.
John Woo’s US films had crappy scripts.
Got to protect the status quo product.
If a movie has his name attached, I do my best to watch it...I'd wager he is grooming someone to carry on as he gets too old to do some of the stunts.
The diversity gig did not work well in the Mid-Term elections, Andrew Gillium, lost in Florida, Stacey Abrams lost in Georgia and Beto O’Rourke lost in Texas!!! and...it’s not working well in POTUS politics, either. “Lightweights”, Kamala Harris & Cory “Spartacus” Booker are going nowhere!!! Game over!!!
As for the Golden Globes & the Academy Award Ceremonies...no one will be watching except a few Hollywood nutcases. More people will be watching “The Hallmark Channel Movies”, rather then the “Hollywood Garbage”!!!
