Wrestling legend Larry "The Axe" Hennig died at age 82, WWE confirmed Thursday.
According to WWE, Hennig suffered from a lengthy illness as well as kidney failure.
Hennig is a legend in his own right as a result of his time with the American Wrestling Association, where he was a four-time tag team champion. His bigger legacy, though, came as the patriarch of the Hennig wrestling family, which includes (grandson Curtis) Axel and Axel's father, "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig.
According to the Internet Wrestling Database, Hennig last wrestled for the AWA in 1985, teaming with Mr. Perfect in a losing effort against the Road Warriors.

RIP.
A friend of mine is an accountant. He used to do taxes for the Road Warriors.
They saved his life, one night, when he had a bit too much to drink in a local bar.
He thought he was superman.
years ago I went to the Hilton Hotel on Southern Bd. in West Palm Beach to change the combination on the hotels safe.
That night The Iron Sheik was to wrestle Sargent Slaughter in the long gone West Palm Auditorium.
Advertised as a grudge match.
As I turned a corner in the place, the two were walking talking together going in to the places bar for a beer
Best of buds they were.
