An upstate mom blasted her dentist as Dr. Ignorant for telling her she needed to stop breastfeeding in an exam room.
Mother-of-two Tiffany Elliott, from Irondequoit in suburban Rochester, said she was beside herself after being shamed by her dentist, Dr. Robin Craig, for starting to breastfeed her 9-month-old daughter, Ember, during her older daughters appointment.
I had Ember cradled and one hand at the bottom of my shirt, with ZERO skin exposed. Dr. Ignorant then says, Ok Im uncomfortable and whatever you are doing there needs to stop!, while motioning around her chest with her hands frantically, Elliott, 30, wrote on Facebook Saturday. My jaw dropped you guys!
Elliott said she explained that based on a 1994 state law, she has a right to breastfeed her child in any public location.
Her ignorance and comfort level does NOT trump my babys needs, she wrote.
But Craig brushed it off, suggesting the family find a new dentist, Elliott said.
I CRIED you guys! she wrote. Anyone who knows me, knows that is NOT me! I felt so embarrassed. Not by the thing I love, which is nurturing my baby wherever and whenever, but by the total IGNORANCE of a society they breeds such clowns.

Yeh, because next thing ya know the dentist is being charged with inappropriate behavior for watching. I don’t blame him.
I think the dentist is female.
Exactly.
What a selfish mom.
FWIW, I breastfed all three of my kids and I would never have done anything that would make anyone uncomfortable.
It's called *common courtesy*.
The selfish little snowflakes need to grow up and think of others besides their selfish little selves..
The usual off-the-charts "outrage."
One comment suggested the Dr.'s license be pulled.
There you have it.
The dentist doesn't meet your standard for political correctness, therefore they should lose their career and livelihood.
Some people are truly despicable.
My jaw drops, you guys, every time these exhibitionists do this. It’s not about feeding but LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! As if she can’t pump or go to the restroom/car or wait 15 minutes until the dental exam is finished.
Looks like an airhead.
Because we live in a LOOK AT MEEEEE!!!! world. Selfies, gays, breast feeding with it all hanging out, social media and getting all offended over a drop of a hat.
Most breastfed babies won’t accept a bottle. It’s foriegn to them.
Yeah, humans are stupid. Wow, how in the world did babies ever take to those foreign objects? How did they ever advance to sippy cups? Goodness, how Starbucks is selling their coffee in cups is something out of this world.
What’s so special about showing off boobs just because you’re breast feeding? For centuries, women were desecrate and covered up or left the room. This isn’t about breast feeding, its about plopping yourself out in public in hopes of running to FB to throw a tantrum.
I demand equal RIGHTS to show off my boobs in public even without a kid attached. For that matter, I demand my RIGHTS to go pantless and sit my poopy butt down anywhere I wish from a dentist’s chair to a chair in your child’s classroom. Urinating on and mensturating on public chairs is a “body function” so don’t anyone dare tell me no or I’ll throw a hissy and sue them.
When my wife breastfed in public, I brought a bottle too.
Then everyone was like, dude, you can't chug wine here.
my granddaughter refuses it (the bottle) outright. Don't know why, but there it is.
What league is that?
ESPN or FOX?
If they use the timeout for stupid official replay then I am not watching.
Or even Tim Whatley.
Personally I don’t have much respect for a woman who demands her “right” to whip out her boob and breastfeed anywhere she wants in any fashion she wants, and I give all my respect to a woman who respects that others might be uncomfortable with it and adjusts her breastfeeding technique or schedule accordingly.
That is simply being considerate of others.
A 9 month old does not need to breastfeed at the dentist office.
They offer support for breastfeeding mothers, which is great, but they support breastfeeding children into toddler age if that is what the child or mother wants...even older, I have heard.
Call me uncultured or whatever, but a six year old kid breastfeeding is a problem.
Ten children. All breastfed. Every one of them would chew on a bottle at 9 months. Foreign objects are a favorite of 9 month old babies.
That.
