Trump never liked the idea of Spring football, and pushed for the USFL to go to a fall schedule. At least that was his position in The Art of the Deal in 1987.

Trump wanted to get merged into the NFL, like the AFL did.

The latter. It will be in the league rules. In no small part the new XFL is an attempt to capture the audience the NFL, with it’s newfound fascination with hard-left politics, doesn’t want.

So, what do you think? I give it two years. Three tops.

The only question is will they get players that don’t suck. Quality of play in the XFL was terrible, that’s what killed them. Doesn’t matter where the teams are if the product is unwatchable.

There’s already way too much football on TV between college and the NFL.

Which might actually kill off the CFL if this makes it past a couple seasons.

Not in the Spring, there isn’t.

So, two conferences of four teams?
EAST
NY
Wash.
Tampa
St. L.
WEST
D/FW
Houston
LA
Seattle
Playing each time twice yields a fourteen-game schedule.
