There is no sweet spot, all expanding to 8 would mean is transfering the complaining from teams #5 to #7 to teams #9 to #12.

In fact, due to how normal distribution works, there is probably a smaller gap between #8 and #12 than there is between #4 and #7, which means there will be more complaining than before.

1)Do the math and explain why having 4 is a better system, because you can't measure this in an objective manner except for Conference Champions mixed in with strong runner-ups. 9-12 will not be in this situation so your response does not make sense.

2) Explain why having Georgia, Ohio State, Washington, and UCF along with the other 4 in a tournament would not be exciting as a football viewer.
