Sweet stories. You wouldn’t by chance be a “daddy’s girl”, would you?
Actually no. My dad never liked me and was open about it. We didn't speak for most of my adult life. Many reasons. Just in the past year have i been noted. We have both worked separately on geneology for years. Daddy became disgusted that my brothers want nothing to do with his geneology research. He finally asked if I wanted it last spring, he was about to trash it. I accepted and since then Hubby and I have been invited 3 times to my parents' for a meal and geneology.
I lived with my mom's parents a lot growing up. I was a Pepaw's girl. He taught me to fish, shoot, drive and then drive his big truck. Many other things.
My dad did teach me history. When at mom and dad's house, kids didn't talk. Especially at meals. But my dad told the coolest stories of history. He should have been a history teacher. He can still bring it to life in his stories.
