Following the tragic passing of New York State Senator Jose Peralta, the pro-vaccine Democrat's widow has revealed the cause her husband's sudden death.

47-year-old lawmaker Peralta died on Thanksgiving eve in Elmhurst Hospital in Queens after developing a fever and later became “disoriented and had trouble breathing."

Peralta had reportedly been ill for at least two weeks before his death and, according to the Associated Press, Mrs. Peralta had told reporters that her husband felt pressure behind his ears and headaches for a week or more and had gone to see a doctor.

I find butt cancer comical.

I'd rather not find it at all, but some folks make good money doing that.

Imagine, profiteering off of the painful & deadly butt cancer of others.

Those ribbons are worn where they can’t be easily seen.

I no longer get flu or any other vaccinations. The last 3 times I got a flu shot I got the worst cases I ever had.

The government’s 1976 swine flu vaccination program.

Thousands of cases of Guillian-Barre Syndrome, and the flu never came.

FWIW, I’m not anti-vaccine. In fact, my wife and I just got our Shingrix shingles vaccines, and she just got her flu vaccine. But I’m anti-flu vaccine for ME.

When I was a junior in high school in 1965, and at a military academy, we didn’t have a choice and were given the flu vaccine. I was sick, throwing up, for 4 days.

Then the next year, despite my protests, I got another flu shot. This time I was in a coma for 4 days, in intensive care for a week, and in the hospital for 15 days.

Afterward, the doctor told me that I probably wouldn’t survive another shot, and I’ve never had another one.

Over the years I’ve had other doctors tell me that the vaccine is different now, made differently, and it shouldn’t be a problem. Note the ‘shouldn’t’.

Honestly, would you take the chance? I think I’ve only had the flu twice in the last 50 years or so, and have never been that sick.

I tell people that I depend on the kindness of strangers. If everyone else gets their flu shots like they’re supposed to, then there won’t be anyone for me to catch it from.

At least that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

Well, not that soon but I finally did find a case with a girl named Holly and it could be the one I was thinking of but it really doesn’t seem like the last name or the case I recall. Well, I found it so I can shut down the computer and go to bed now anyway...

Allergy to eggs? They always ask if you’re allergic to eggs before the flu shot is given... I would say no one wants an experience like yours not even once!

Well, I have eggs at least once a week, fried, scrambled, or hardboiled, so I don’t think it’s eggs.

However that does not take place over a 2 week period. It’s usually immediate although could be up to 12 hours after exposure. Not 2 weeks

Yep and that’s another thing, I’ve heard that many times. None for me thanks.

“These are classic symptoms of an allergy...... when the throat swells from contact with the allergen, breathing is impossible.”

Same thing happened to my wife. No history of allergies. Returning home after having dental work done, her throat started swelling and she gave me a straw to push down her throat if she couldn’t breath. Thankfully the symptoms soon subsided.

Just had my flu shot (at my doctors insistence during a checkup - can’t remember ever having the flu). Came down with a lousy cold, which hopefully is getting better.

Glad to hear your wife pulled through. She had an allergy to something in the dentist’s office.

My doctor said there are lots of medical studies of people being allergic to medication. But you dont know til it’s too late-—like Andy Warhol.

When using cosmetics or other chemical items, a good idea is to try it out first on the inside of your upper arm.....if you’re allergic it will react on your arm.

BTW, getting a flu shot or assorted vaccines -—— you can expect to get a mild case (hopefully mild) of the illness you’re trying to avoid.

Thanks - definitely due to the anesthetic administered by the dentist. My wife needs surgery but I am afraid of a similar reaction while she is “under” and unable to warn of any obstructed breathing.

That is a dilemma.

In Warhol's case, he despised hospitals but needed a gall bladder operation.

He hired nurses to sit by his bedside 24/7...... indeed, his private nurse was at his bedside WHEN HE DIED.

She had apparently been reading when she looked up to check him---he had turned blue.

He was sedated....he could not indicate he was in trouble.

Hospital code blue was called....but they could not intubate him---to get oxygen into him. His throat had swelled.

Of course, they blamed it on rigor mortis....not an allergy.....for many years nobody knew why Warhol had died.
