You just translate the mechanical analog aspects into digital. Not that hard. What is so difficult about making modern thrusters, etc?

This statement is absolutely built on ignorance. I worked on a system called the ITT 465L in the early 80's. It was "new" in the early 60's or so. NO computer geek could rebuild that because the components in most cases ARE NOT AVAILABLE and even if you could get them it would cost a fortune. But luckily MOST understand that NEW technology supplants OLD technology. And so instead of understanding the concept that old technology can't be exactly replicated you have to stretch it to mean that "Gee, we're too stupid to go to the moon today".
