They try to do the second knee within a year. Perhaps if they don’t get you walking within that time the knee that’s already done may get damaged or something. I waited one year to get someone to say I needed the surgery, two years to get the first knee, then another year for the second. So I’m at four years of hobbling around and I’m learning how to walk all over again. I forgot that you’re supposed to stand straight up lol.

You poor thing, sounds incredibly frustrating. Well I’m glad they didn’t take that long to get to the second knee, and they realized the importance of it. Does sound like you had to suffer a lot to get started on the process though.

I didn’t realize that one knee replacement usually followed the other.

I hope that one day soon you will be totally pain-free and running around :-) Maybe by Christmas.

My Christmas wish is to be able to take my little dog hiking. That means I have to be able to pick up 5 pounds. I could go earlier but if he gets hurt or tries to attack some bigger dog, I have to be able to pick him up and not be in pain afterwards. I don’t have much time though so it’s not likely to happen before Christmas :-( not at the sloth rate I am going.
