They are right next to the Potomac. If they get an outpost on the Potomac, they can get a sailboat, and travel all around Chesapeake Bay, and even out to the Atlantic up and down the coast. They can bring together everyone on the coast and rebuild the country. They wouldn’t be in much worse shape than the colonists at that point.
I’d be putting out lobster pots.
They were prison food in the colonies and should be making a come back by now. Fishing should also be tremendous.
