But if different technologies and treatments can be invented to assist people to live more satisfying lives, should they choose them, that is what freedom is about and we shouldn't let one city in California limit an American's options. I know that the activist Milo, for example, was toying with the idea of conversion therapy, he sounds pretty conflicted about being gay. If an insurance company YOU pay for offers an effective treatment, go for it -- but taxpayer subsidies should not be used, esp for a nyt's writer like this poor guy who's about to enter a whole new level of long term pain and suffering.
