LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Justin Bieber marked his first Thanksgiving as a married man, saying that "love isn't always easy" but adding he was trying, like Jesus Christ, to be more patient and selfless.
The Canadian pop singer, 24, who married model Hailey Baldwin in a hush-hush civil ceremony in September, told his 102 million Instagram followers that Thursday's U.S. Thanksgiving holiday was the first he had hosted.
"First thanksgiving as a married man, first time hos ting thanksgiving," Bieber wrote in a posting on Friday. "Relationships are hard and love isn't always easy but thank you Jesus for showing me how! Every day is a learning process, trying to be more like him, patient, kind, selfless, boy I got a long way! But gods grace is sufficient!" he added.

“I think that people, as soon as they start hearing me saying Im a Christian, theyre like, Whoa Justin, back up, take a step back. Also, I do not want to shove this down anyones throat. I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be JesusI could neverI dont want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins. Sometimes when I dont feel like doing something, but I know its right, I remember, Im pretty sure Jesus didnt feel like going to the cross and dying so that we dont have to feel what we should have to feel. What Jesus did when he came to the cross was basically say, You dont have to feel any of that stuff. We could take out all of our insecurities, we could take away all of the hurt, all the pain, all the fear, all the trauma. That doesnt need to be there. So all this healing that youre trying to do, its unnecessary. We have the greatest healer of all and his name is Jesus Christ.”
“If we can understand that were all imperfect, lets come to God and come for his help. Youre not weak by doing that. I think thats a common misperception of Christians, that youre being weak because you cant handle it. None of us can handle this world, dude! Its eating us alive. But, man, I dont wanna have to do it on my own. “
This kid, so roundly rebuked out of the gate, had a better grasp on his faith and personal relationship with Jesus than most of the schooled individuals on this site. We're three years out from that interview and he is still going strong.
So all of you that crapped on this guys faith, because you think you are better, smarter or closer to God need to take a step back.
2 Timothy 3:12-13
12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
I wonder if Paul knew or foresaw that that persecution would come from other believers.
Maybe he didn't want it ruined by hundreds of paparazzi trying to stick their cameras in his and her faces?
I believe he was a Christian as a young man before he hit the big time.
He’s got a struggle, I have no doubt.
You said.....”This kid, so roundly rebuked out of the gate, had a better grasp on his faith and personal relationship with Jesus than most of the schooled individuals on this site”.......
Justin Bieber is not an individual that mature Christians would use as a measuring rod regarding other Christians relationship with God on FR.
I don’t have a clue how a guy in his position goes there, but if he means it I hope he does it well.
“the marriage wont last more than a year.” -Secret Agent Man
“I dont think Justin is sane enough to stay married. certainly not mature enough.” -Cyclops08
“Maybe join a church? For heavens sake, not Travoltas.” -Beowulf9
“Crucify him. Hell yell quit on the first nail. Hell take the slow path like every other sinner, unless he dedicates his fortune to the Mother Theresa foundation, and wears humble weeds for the rest of his life. Then he could have a chance at the redemption every human seeks.” -Candor7
“Hell OD before 30.” -SMGFan
Doesn't sound very Christlike to me. It actually sounds like judgment, and it's not their place to do that.
So compared to the folks who made the above posts, I think Justin exhibited far more understanding of what it means to be In Christ, especially considering he gave the interview three years ago.
I pray this is true. He’d be a great witness.
