I am assuming that was the 2nd Mauretania, since the first one was scrapped in 1935.

Our family went from England to New York in 1952 on the Mauritania. I don't remember much except heaving my guts out a couple of times.

The only other outstanding thing I recall is the customes official looked in my suitcase, it contained toys, and everyone thought that it was hilarious.

Our family immigrated , legally, in 1952. We went from England to New York on the Mauritania.

I recall barfing a lot, but that was it.
