Tarzan (John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke) is a fictional character, an archetypal feral child raised in the African jungle by the Mangani great apes; he later experiences civilization only to reject it and return to the wild as a heroic adventurer. Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan first appeared in the novel Tarzan of the Apes (magazine publication 1912, book publication 1914), and subsequently in 25 sequels, several authorized books by other authors, and innumerable works in other media, both authorized and unauthorized. The film version of Tarzan as the noble savage (Me Tarzan, You Jane), as acted by Johnny Weissmuller, does not reflect the original character in the novels, who is gracious and highly sophisticated.
The Shadow was good, too. I may have to reread a few of those.
Jack Vance is another of my favorite sf authors. Right now I only have about 20 titles; maybe I’ll get a few this weekend.
It’s between Jack Vance and Gene Wolfe for me. I have pretty much everything by Vance except some of the short stories and mystery stuff. Good luck getting more!

Noooooooo! My mom threw a box of comic books into her first yard sale without telling me. That box had been passed down from my sister who was born in 1952, to the next sister born in 1956, to me born in 1962. Man, I was not happy about that.
I loved ERB Tarzan books, and John Carter of Mars too.
