It is about time that Windows 10 started mucking up devices powered by ARM processors.

Don’t Intel’s newer CPUs still have the same bugs?
My next PC will probably have AMD.

The security and other bugs that have plagued Intel CPUs in recent years have their equivalent in AMD's CPUs, though not identically, and AMD's have generally not been as bad (severity, and performance hit to correct).

The problems in both families stem from attempts to speed up execution (performance) by "cheating" -- looking ahead at what "might" be done in the near future and doing it. Problem being that that predictive execution also makes it possible for programs to access data they aren't allowed to see.

Wasn’t such an “illegal operation” (a type of Fatal Exception) in the past?

No, no, Windows 10 doesn't have the BSOD BLUE Screen of Death.

Windows 10 comes with the RSOD RED Screen of Death:

Okay, you're on! May God grant you and yours a peaceful and plentiful Thanksgiving Day, and all days after.

Nothing wrong with AMD CPU’s but I’ve had better luck with Intel CPU’s. I believe the problem is with Windows; not the CPU. Bloated or bad coding is more to blame. I wiped my HP Intel w/I7 chip and installed Linux Mint. It runs for weeks most times before I restart it. Been running for years like this with no issues. Of course I do perform data backups like everyone should; regardless of OS. Hard drives fail. I’ve had to break this sad news to people who lost everything due to HD failures. Well; lost everything unless they wanted to send the HD in for an expensive data recovery.

The one issue I have and it isn’t the hardware; it’s the browsers. Firefox especially will eat up the ram but won’t let it go like it should unless I close the browser. Chromium does it too but to a lesser degree. Firefox works best with FR due to an addon available. It’s possible to add it to Chrome too but I haven’t messed with it yet. http://cynwoody.appspot.com/fr_posting_form_enhancer.html

Ergo the hardware is fine; it’s the software that’s more of an issue IMHO.

You sir, are wrong.

Intel is an architecture that is backward compatible with an 8 bit calculator chip.
As a result, it is inefficient, and slow (compared to what can be done).

As an example, Apple’s newest Chip, (which is an ARM, with custom circuitry added) that is in the iPAD pro was recently tested. It beat all but the very fastest desktop INTEL CPUs on about 7 Applications. It has a battery life of 13 hours.
Note: Yes, it even beat the MacBook Pro!

Intel is dead, stick a fork in them. If you like the chipset, run AMD - they are kicking INTELs butt on the desktop/server market.

Things don’t look good for Intel....

Microsoft not afraid they’ll boot into Chrome and never use Windows ,LOL

Chrome is not ChromeOS. Chrome is 'just' a browser, like Edge and Opera and Firefox. LOL

You are correct, but I couldn’t find a picture of a phone with the red screen of death, but it probably won’t be long with this new development.

Good tip, I am looking forward to giving it a try. But will I forget all of my html after using it for a while?
