True...but some are not in lock step with their maker either. I don't think this fellow was....and I question he was a missionary. With all that's known about this tribe I doubt very much any church would have supported his going in there 'alone'....and certainly not to continue walking toward those firing at him....which he did.

I've read the article. Whether or not a church supported him means nothing if God called him.

And even if God didn't call him for this people, no where in the Bible will you find man needing to ask for permission to reach a people for Christ. He was obeying the very first commandment to Adam that never changed: subdue the earth. He was living missional. That is what we are called to do, even if it means our lives.

He did his Father's will, and people are butt-hurt over it.
