He broke Indian law, and those islands belong to India. Plenty of other places he could be a missionary.

I don't think he was supported by a church....looks like he was an explorer and adventurer more than anything else...a church supporting, him as a missionary, would have never let him go in there alone... which he did. Let alone break all the laws he purposely did.
Sorry he died but seems to me he was foolish and naive at best.
