Are there any other Freeper potters? Im a newbie of 2 years. Mostly hand building but learning the wheel. Would love to get to know other conservative potters. As you can imagine, the art is full of liberals. Ugh.
Romans 9:20-21
No, but I play one on TV.
One of my uncles was an art teacher. Strong family man, great guy, and staunch conservative.
I’m not, but I used to watch Jaques Cousteau documentaries when I was little.
Very nice re your uncle.
Thanks.
I have a cousin who once dated a gunnery sergeant. Not the same thing?

My daughter is. She has a degree in it (a lot more complicated than you see on Ghost.)
You are correct, they are mostly liberals. But in the arts world, thats almost a given. Talk about glaze formulae. They get excited about that stuff.
Not any more. My priorities changed, man.
love working with clay but unfortunately haven’t done so in many years. Still have my tools for maybe future use. Also most places near me that had kiln I could bring work to to have fired have closed. Too many cheaper premade ceramic stores popped up with their painting parties etc, but gone is the uniqueness of actually making your own piece.
Folk music people are bats, too.
I hope you find someone to chat about pottery!
There is a place in Avon, NC (for beach goers) called Studio 12 that does just that sort of thing. Great for kids

I was always afraid of the electric bill... and Radon... so I just sketch a little.
So... if I had to do it all over again I would continue to sketch but would have invested in formal classes.
I personally don’t, but just thought I’d share. There is a ceramic/pottery place on my family’s old homestead in Virginia that was sold about 45 years ago.

Kramerica Industries has a make your own pizza oven that doubles as a pottery kiln.
Those liberals don’t seem to want to make rocket thrust nozzles for me....
I know a guy who is a potter and conservative. Don’t know if he is a member here. His name is Harry.
Unfortunately, my definition of “ART” has become the most accurate one these days.
ART- Things of little or no value to most people, created by individuals who, when they can not sell enough of them to survive, demand that they be subsidized by public funds.
My dates roommate died in a kiln explosion. Seriously one of my jobs was building kilns and furnaces for firing pottery and heat treating metal, I could make you a small knife furnace or reline a Lime Kiln, some of them were 60 ft wide X 150 ft tall.
