The gist of the article was that doctors in Cambodia were refusing to preform surgeries on these kids, so the child brothels were doctor shopping around Asia.
It didn’t sound like a centralized operation, rather a child here and a child there. It really depressed me at the time, even though Cambodia and Thailand were so full of heterosexual sex predators as to make this a needle in a needlestack.
The western press focuses on the sex tourists in Cambodia, but really the Khmer Rouge slaughtered many of the people who would have opposed this. Actually the percentage of women who partake of prostitutes is evidently orders of magnitude higher than the rest of the world, since having a moral compass got you killed in the seventies.
