I frequently fly a day early when I need to be somewhere. If flying on the Sabbath due to is a major problem for an individual, that's a logical solution. However some articles on this incident indicate that the airline agreed to allow passengers who wished to deplane before takeoff, but the pilot, presumably not wishing to lose his takeoff slot, didn't return to the gate as instructed and took off. If that's the case, the airline has a problem. Abusing the crew, not acceptable under any circumstance.
