Nation-wide, there needs to be an immediate, total purging of the voter rolls, followed by a mandatory re-registration, in person, with proof of citizenship. No “motor-voter” crap. The cut-off for registration would be one 30 September. By the end of October, people would be able to verify their place on the roles by web access, with their own account and password...no party or PAC or organization would be allowed to “assist”.
On the day of voting, the voter must show a legal ID or voter card (Maybe generated by registration) when voting and their name must be on the role. No “provisional ballots”, no “absentee ballots”. The only allowed mail-in or electronic voting would be for members of the US Military.
Sounds Draconian...it bloody-well is! The Franchise is a civic duty and priviledge. It should take some effort to execute.
Yeah, what about old folks, confined to nursing homes? Well, that is a job for the registrar of voting to get bonded teams to go there to assist in the execution of the franchise. Nurses cannot “help”. If someone is unable to understand the ballot, they shouldn’t be voting.
Many of those workers at nursing homes are SEIU members.
They ‘help’ the elderly VOTE.
