A neighbor of ours at our cabin survived the Great Hinckley Fire in Minnesota in the 1890’s. She was just a kid, and went into a nearby lake with the rest of the townspeople. Except for the ones that couldn’t swim and afraid of the water.
400 square miles and 6 towns destroyed - all in four hours!
