Understand that Blacks would like to turn the USA into South Africa!

I certainly believe some blacks feel that way...last week I heard an angry nine-year old tell a white classmate “There’s going to be a war!”. He had to have heard that kind of talk at home. I couldn’t help but think to myself, “you better hope not, your side will lose.”

But I don’t think that most blacks feel that way. I believe that most want to get through their days and lives without too much trouble. They are our countrymen and countrywomen. I think it would be helpful for everyone if we let them know that.

I have several Black friends. They don’t like the term African American, because none of them have ever even been to Africa. The prefer to be called just Americans. Sadly, I received a call from one of them yesterday telling me that his prostate cancer had spread to his spine and that the doctors have given him a year to live! I was in the car at the time and I found it hard to drive while crying. This good man and I have been close friends for about ten years. We have traveled together working as race officials for SCCA, shared our life’s experiences with one another, and our wives have become close friends as well. So you are right that we should see each and every human being in the context of who they are, and not where they came from. Unfortunately, when it comes to politics, often times we use one’s political preferences in place of who they are as people.
