To one & all reference "camp fire coffee," if you only have a coffee pot without the little basket to hold the coffee grounds, the "trick" that I've heard is when done brewing and your ready to pour, put a little cold (room temp) water, approx a tea-spoon, or maybe a table spoon in and your supposed to be able to pour the coffee, minus the grounds. The cold water is supposed to make the grounds just sink to the bottom of the pot.

I haven't tried it, but it does sound like its worth giving it a try. No harm, no foul.

I’ve never done that with the old fashioned coffee boiler. Will try and remember to test it.
