To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks

The problem is the viaduct is old. It’s gonna start collapsing, and once that starts the whole thing will be shut down. It all has to be taken out no matter what (enormous messy job).

Once that’s removed at great cost, replacing it (tunnel, surface, elevated) will be prohibitively expensive & disruptive.

This will kill Syracuse.

Like most Northeastern states, New York went out of the infrastructure business 40 years ago, even though the region has the oldest highways, railroads, waterworks, and airports in the country. Liberals seem incapable of doing road or rail projects without interminable delays and cost overruns. New York City built hundreds of miles of subway lines between 1900 and 1940, yet has taken 15 years to build maybe three miles of subway in this century.
