I was in and out of there late 50s and homeported from 60-62.
Not too many ships at that time, dont believe a carrier was homeported BUT the SHTF for regulars when a bird farm showed up with all her escorts...

Yokosuka was the main SRF with Sasebo taking some of it and then Subic Bay on the other end.

We visited that area on my 2 WESTPACs from ‘93-’97 on the Peleliu. Been to Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manilla and Perth. Good times.
