This is how I would fix it.
It’s early morning. Dan is tossing and turning in bed and let’s out a scream. The figure next to him wakes up and jokingly says, “Did you have that dream again that I was dead and you are being slowly tortured by our kids?” The figure turns over and it is Roseanne.
New season, no transgender kids. The kid is normal but does have his quirks. Leave the rest of the cast the same. Roseanne can carry them.
