If I want to buy cereal at Costco, Sams Club or Restaurant Depot, I need a signed picture ID to get in and again show it at the check-out counter.

I’m sure there are other stores that require the same.

Also some stores will ask for an ID card when paying with a credit card or check.

I shop at Costco and Sams and do not have to show an ID to get in. Just one of their issued cards.
