YEKATERINBURG, Russia (WTHR) - A major selfie fail damaged valuable artwork in a Russian gallery.
Russian authorities called out the group of girls who were taking the picture for "not behaving appropriately" when they knocked over a wall displaying paintings by Salvador Dali and Francisco Goya.
The girls are seen on CCTV near the temporary wall at the museum in Yekaterinburg last month. As one of the girls stands in front of the wall to take a picture of it, the wall comes down. Then, as the wall hits the floor, a second girl can be seen behind it.
Authorities believe one of the girls knocked the wall over as she was trying to take a selfie with the display in the background. According to the museum, the frame and glass on the work by Goya were broken, while the picture by Dali was "destroyed."
A police investigation has been launched, but no arrests have been reported.

ok she gets 1% of the blame for being the trigger for the event
They should absolutely be arrested. Priceless art work.
Good one !!!!
LOL!
Don’t know what it was called before but the rename is “Crash”.
They could get that guy who drew a picture of Mr. Krueger on the beach with George.
BTW, George has lost a lot of hair......
In true Russian form the Fifth Graders are busy building Aircraft, Tanks, Subs AND have just laid the Keel for a replacement Aircraft Carrier since the only other one was SUNK in the Drydock the other week.
The aforementioned Museum Display was built by the Second Graders and the New Display will be built by the Third Graders and may even use an additional Class of Fourth Graders to speed things up.
In the west (original) bldg of the National Gallery in DC, the guard who was working the Impressionists room was barking "don't touch the art" and "step back two feet" to people (including us) the whole time we were in there. And from what I saw, no one was touching any of the art. If I touch art that's off limits, it's ancient sculpture, typically Egyptian, and of very hard stone. I'm just a rebel and I'll never ever be any good.

Don’t worry. In the communist state, the government is responsible for her actions. Probably the daughter of some high ranking member..
It’s the painting’s fault.
I’ve always selfie-taking narcissists. Now I have one more reason to hate them, Goya and Dali are two of my favorite painters.
Head Exploding, 1951 by Salvador Dali (I particularly like his use of the Pantheon dome as the model for the cranium)
