I mulch 'em every year...And I have a lot of them...At first I would mulch them and then go over them with the bagger...Get so much more into the bags that way...Finally quit that and just mulch now...If they are really thick, I'll go over them twice...After a short time the mulched leaves filter down between the blades of grass...Works great...
I’ll give that a shot next year. I need to get her in for service either soon after the leaves are done or early next year. I’ll get mulching blades put on and see how it goes!

Pops had me doing our enormous yard with a push mower and bag. Front yard was smaller by far than back. In the fall and spring it took forever, spring particularly because hed fertilize and Id have to cut the front again shortly after finishing the back.
Ironically, now I love to mow grass, human powered reel, push mower or lawn tractor, but my condo doesnt have a yard and my Nevada place is fit for only weed eater (which I like too) in the few acres i actually sleep and do stuff on...
