I never thought that “safe” midterms meant that Q/Trump would control or know the outcome. I thought “safe” meant safe from hacking and cheating, unlike prior years.
I haven’t seen anything that suggests Sessions has done anything untrustworthy. I don’t believe he held that position and slept all day or simply refused to do his job - he just wouldn’t talk about his confidential tasks, even in the face of public ridicule.
Note that Gowdy and Goodlatte are resigning too and they aren’t doing so for failure. POTUS always has kept Sessions at arm’s length complaining loudly him to show that Sessions isn’t a puppet of the administration. Sometimes we have to wait for the ‘why’ behind it all.
