I don’t mind that they are presenting the PG version of Freddie Mercury.

The film press is panning the movie because it didn't make Freddy's sexuality the focus of the film. They wanted the movie to be filmed in gay bars, bedrooms and bathhouses. While the film makes it clear that Mercury is gay, the band and their music is the focus, and movie going audiences are giving it great reviews. I'll wait, but will definitely see it.

That kind of Close-Up&Gay focus would have quickly overwhelmed the film, and smothered out most of the other sub-plots. That film can be made later, and with a different actor as Freddie.

Sacha Baron Cohen the Brit. comedian wanted to make that type of film now, but two of the original band members did not have that vision at all. Sacha is naturally prone of exaggeration of expression and edgy-attention getting behavior. That is his brand. So perhaps he will produce such a movie in the future.

This idiot leftist Katie Walsh complained that it showed his relationship with Mary Austin as the most positive in his life and that it showed him as a victim of predatory gay men. Well, Kate, he left his estate to Mary. The film was produced by Brian May and Roger Taylor. MAYBE they know a little more about it than you. Her reviews are full on SJW garbage.

Go see it, great movie.
They briefly touched on his life of debauchery, but concentrated on his music and his band, I thought it was well balanced.

A gay bar fest would have turned me off. Besides he was much more than that
