I just watched the entire “Time For Choosing” by Ronald Reagan.

President Reagan was astonishing in that. He was mesmerizing and IMO our greatest president until President Trump.

Locally, I have found that Pastor Raphael Cruz is a fascinating speaker. He campaigned for a candidate for whom I worked in the spring primary for state Representative. Pastor Cruz has a deep wealth of the history of These United States which he interspersed in depth into all his appearances. Even when he spoke at a county-wide prayer day he educated those attending on the history of our nation and political system.

Listening to Pastor Cruz it's easy to see how Senator Cruz came to be the man he is. I would argue that the father is by far the better speaker however I don't say that to denigrate Senator Cruz in any way. Pastor Cruz has the stuff of which awesome history teachers should be made. He has the ability to tie events and texts from the 18th and 19th centuries into present politics and events. He is able to bring to the fore governmental errors from the 19th or 20th centuries and show later consequences.

I am a lover of history so it's not as difficult for these things to interest me; but I took my mother-in-law (relatively ignorrant of history) to hear a sermon from Pastor Cruz on the topic of prayer in our political process. My M-I-L came away loving it and understanding it! That is also a mark of a communicator. I won't begin to say Pastor Cruz is as exciting as President Reagan but he did create interest, make the information interesting to the uninformed and keep attention.

Like President Reagan, President Trump is an exciting speaker. We need more men and women in our society to be able to speak and educate people at all levels, national, state, local as well as classroom. I wanted to bring up Pastor Cruz because he is certainly a person who could help people with understanding of our political background and process if more people heard him. No, he's not running for office, he is a pastor. But he is a learned communicator. As for me, if the opportunity presents, I would take my high school or older grandkids to hear Pastor Cruz. Events with people like that are great red pilling opportunities for friends and neighbors too.

Loved reading your post about Ted Cruz’s dad. I had the most excellent fortune to attend a fundraiser for a charitable org that focuses on educating school age kids about the Constitution that featured Sen Cruz. My buddy who runs the org sat me with Sen Cruz and his father.

I was quite tongue tied with the Senator (until I asked him to sign my Sabo poster featuring Cruz “Black Listed and Lovin’ it”), then I let loose, but his father was the loveliest person...gracious, kind, entertaining, leducating...and totally supportive of his son.

Seems he makes Herculean effort to attend each event for Sen Cruz.

People who don’t like Ted because they believe crap in the MSM are really missing out on a smart, hard working conservative family man who may be a nerd, but he is a really funny nerd, and an awesome senator for the great state of Texas.
