I agree with this. Lately that last few calls like that are from my area code and prefix. So was this caller who appears to be a real person.

After I returned one of the spammer calls and discovered what it was, now I just block the number.

I’ve been the victim of area code spoofing for years. They call from the area code I’m from — which is 3000 miles from where I’m at.

Two ways to deal with it. Block the caller or wait a few hours and try to call them back. When you try to call back you’ll find they’ve been disconnected.

Next is check your incoming call log, it will have the true number that called rather than the spoofed numberl
