Bob Hope Made Fun of Democrats ( Watch this clip: One of the greatest movie lines ever !)

The clip displayed above is more humor in a similar vein, a segment from the 1940 Bob Hope film The Ghost Breakers, synopsized thusly on the IMDb:

Mary Carter (Paulette Goddard) inherits her family’s ancestral home, located on a small island off Cuba, and, despite warnings and death threats, decides to take possession of the reputedly haunted castle. She is joined by radio broadcaster Larry Lawrence (Bob Hope) who, believing he has killed a mob gunsel, flees New York with his butler, Alex. Once on the island the threesome enter the eerie castle and, after viewing the ghost of one of Mary’s ancestors and fighting off a menacing zombie, they find the key to the castle’s treasure but are interrupted by an all-too-human foe.

In the scene shown here, Larry Lawrence (Bob Hope) and Mary Carter (Paulette Goddard) inquire of Geoff Montgomery (Richard Carlson) about the nature of creatures known as “zombies,” providing the set-up for a Bob Hope zinger:

Lawrence: “You live here?”

Montgomery: “When a person dies and is buried, its seems there are certain voodoo priests who … who have the power to bring him back to life.”

Montgomery: “It’s worse than horrible because a zombie has no will of his own. You see them sometimes walking around blindly with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring.”

One time during the 1950’s Hope was golfing with President Eisenhower at Augusta National when another golfer sliced their shot and it went sailing towards the presidential party and bounced off their golf cart. Hope looked at Ike and said “He’s either a Democrat or he saw my last picture.”

This stuff used to be funny, but today it's much more serious for the survival of the nation. Just heard Oprah give an account of an old black man voting so he walked 6 miles to vote and a man told him he was in the wrong place. He walked another 6 miles and a man told him the same thing. He walked to the next place and they said the polls were closed.

What Oprah forgot to mention was the men that told him he couldn't vote were all Democrats. It was democrats that stood in school house doorways to keep them segregated. It was W.Wilson that segregated the military. Was Bull Connor a Democrat? Was Gov. Wallace a Dem? How about Gov. Fulbright? In the old video you can see with black marchers getting fire hosed, the police chiefs are all Democrats. There were NO KKK members that were Republicans. The Grand Wizards were all Democrats. Republicans sent troops to integrate the schools. The Republican party was started to ban slavery. The first blacks in congress were all Republicans. The solid south was solid because they were all Democrats.

I'm 67 yo so I watched it. I grew up with separate bathrooms and drinking fountains. The south only changed after prayer was abolished in school and abortion was legalized. Even the Civil rights Act couldn't pass without Republican votes. Gore's father voted no along with many others. For Democrats to have such a strangle hold on minorities is a result of ignorance of history and out right lies. How can a black person that says they love the Lord vote for the party of abortion and sodomy? How thick do the scales have to be to see they have sold their soul for a welfare check.
