You and me both! I’ve spent too many elections believing the the hype that we had it, and then collapsing in misery. It’s so hard to believe any more, as if it’s bad luck to anticipate.

Am quite familiar with those feelings. However, this time, my inner hunch is that we'll be surprised in our positive direction. I sure hope . . . so.

I agree with JockoManning. mairdie, might I suggest turning off all the news channels, papers, etc? A steady bombardment of that crap really tends to depress oneself. I used to OD on news programs and it had that effect on me.

I've found that I am better informed by tuning out the national news media because most of the stuff they are peddling is garbage for the most part. Plus, by NOT watching or listening to them serves to take away their power and I am able to keep myself incredibly positive. :)

btw, I find that alternative news sources are much more reliable.
