10/15/88: Vin Scully calls Kirk Gibson’s full at-bat that finishes with a legendary walk-off homer during Game 1 of the World Series (FANTASTIC)

My favorite baseball moment EVER!

What made it even more sweet was I was in a bar surrounded by A's fans. Little old me in my Dodger hat.

As Kirk hobbled up to the plate I chanted, "Kirk! Kirk! Kirk!"

When he cracked it, I was yelling so loud I drownded out poor Vinny.

I think the A's fans were dismayed. Haha.

AND to make it even better, I was driving to the bar and the game had already started. When Canseco parked one earlier in the game, I went crazy and my shades somehow came off and fell out the window. And I really liked those shades.

But Kirk made up for it.

Being from Pittsburgh and being 13 years old at the time, Bill Mazeroski’s homerun in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series was great for me. But I loved that Gibson at bat!
