Stewart is going to lose by 20 points. It will be a massacre on election night in Virginia. He is a horrible candidate. Now that he finally won a primary and will lose a general election, hopefully other candidates will emerge over time.

Unfortunately, he may bring down several pubbies in the US House with him. Viginia is now a blue state and turning bluer by the day. Hillary won by over 250,000 votes in 2016. Trump has no chance in Virginia in 2020. I doubt he will bother campaigning in Virginia for 2020.

I have a friend in Santa Cruz. From his reports, EVERYONE he interacts with out there is a Trump-hating leftist. According to him, hating Trump gives meaning to their otherwise meaningless lives, since otherwise they just sit around, figure out how to scam money off the government, get stoned and party.

I voted today (first day of early voting) in Orange County. Not much activity. But what was interesting is that the voting seems more secure than in 2016. They check your reegistration, require a signature and have electonic voting as before. But now they record a paper printout of your vote. More difficult to “stuff” the ballot box. There may be some hope for California yet.

We left California three years ago and never look back. Voting there is like visiting the United Nations. The public employee unions control Sacramento. Legal and illegal aliens have flooded schools, hospitals, and prisons. Infrastructure is overloaded. My granddaughter is the only Caucasian in her 2nd grade class in a brand new school in a brand new subdivision in an East Bay community.

It will be 20 points. Gillespie lost by only 10,000 votes but that was because he made Obamacare his focal point in the campaign for the last two weeks. He would have won if he had made Obamacare his main theme for the whole campaign.

Gillespie is a good politician. Stewart is not. And there is no Obamacare as an issue this year. In fact, the dems have been very effective in making health care an issue against the repubs this year.

Stewart is a perfect candidate for Virginia 20 years ago, but that time has passed. Stewart is a perfect candidate for Alabama, but Virginia is not Alabama. A good politician understands the voters of their district or state and campaigns accordingly. A case in point is Comstock, who appeared to be losing but at least has made her race competitive in a district that loathes Trump. Trump received only 23% of the vote in Fairfax County in 2016, an astonishingly low percent, but believable because of all the govt workers, hangers on and contractors in the county.

Her 2018 election was considered lost the day after the pres election, but she is smart and even voting with Trump over 90% of the time has come across as more bipartisan.

Perhaps that is what you don't want to hear, but that is the only way a repub will ever win in Virginia again. Virginia is getting bluer by the day and a blowhard won't win in Virginia and Stewart comes across as a blowhard. He loses by 20.

This is a state that rejected the great George Allen twice. This state is gone for good.
