I don’t even understand why Metcalf and Goodman signed on for this. Metcalf was nominated for an Oscar this year and has two Tony awards the last two years. Goodman has had a good career going too. This is a huge step backwards for actors of their calibre.

We hear and read often about what the opioid epidemic is doing to the working class people of this country...then a major network blithely kills-off perhaps the most successful TV working class female character of all time via an opioid overdose as punishment for a racially charged remark. Am I the only person stunned by the insensitivity of this?

Not one single cast member defended Roseanne.
May they enjoy the unemployment line.

I find it interesting that though they had banned even all Roseanne reruns immediately after the brouhaha, lately they were on again. Likely they were running them as prelude backup hype for their “The Conners”. As usual it looks like typical leftist hypocrisy. I hope Roseanne good gets paid for the playing of the reruns.

Conservatives aren't going to watch the Conners - and liberals hate all working class people - especially white working class citizens - so they're not going to watch either.
So who exactly is the audience for this show?
Maybe the delusionals? Liberals who want to see conservatives portrayed as their straw-man fantasies of what conservatives are? That's been done - and done - and done...
Best thing ABC could do is sell the show to FOX and let it be done right...
It's an interesting concept - ONE primetime show for the half of Americans who are NOT liberals... just might be a success.
Even better - - hire conservative writers ...
