Game 3 was the 12th World Series game to go 12 innings and the fourth World Series Game to go 14 innings. It is the only World Series game to go 18 innings. Here are the longest World Series games in history by innings played:
2018 Game 3: Red Sox vs. Dodgers still playing in the 18th inning.
1916 Game 2: (Brooklyn) Dodgers beat Red Sox 2-1 in 14 innings.
2005 Game 3: White Sox beat Astros 7-5 in 14 innings.
2015 Game 1: Royals beat Mets 5-4 in 14 innings.
Furthermore, Game 3 is also the longest World Series game by time of game and it's not close either. Game 3 is already over the eight-hour mark as of this writing.
Here are the longest World Series games in history by time of game:
2018 Game 3: Red Sox vs. Dodgers in eight hours and counting.
2005 Game 3: White Sox vs. Astros in five hours and 41 minutes.
2017 Game 5: Dodgers vs. Astros in five hours and 17 minutes.
2015 Game 1: Royals vs. Mets in five hours and nine minutes.
2000 Game 1: Yankees vs. Mets in four hours and 51 minutes.

They got out on their little studio baseball field and showed how Bellinger ran up the first base line in FAIR territory. They both thought it was interference by Bellinger. They said if they were managing Boston they "WOULD HAVE BEEN SCREAMING" at the no-call.
But the umpires chose not to call it for some bizarre GUTLESS reason.
And it being unreviewable, nothing happened and Boston scored 4 runs as a result.
Bellinger interfered and it wasn't called.
They even included a great few seconds of actual "film" from the game from a camera that had been placed DIRECTLY looking toward homeplate from the right field line --- directly down the line as Bellinger hurried to first base, running INSIDE the line the entire way.
It was a judgment call by the umpire that he did not interfere. Reynolds and Girardi were vehemently disagreeing. (QUITE EXCELLENT OF THEM to call out the umpires on national tv!)
That to me was one of the worst (and important) non-calls in baseball history.

PS --- Bellinger is a smart kid. He was very sly. Being a left handed batter (as I was all my playing years), he knew that the natural momentum/force of a left-handed hitter after his swing is to pull your body out toward FOUL territory as you are leaving the batters box.
He had to quickly and purposefully adjust and turn INTO THE FIELD OF PLAY so he could be a problem for the catcher. He is a very fast runner. The catcher's throw grazed him right before he got to the bag (he was still in fair territory). The catcher should have DRILLED HIM right in the back. Then baseball fans may have gotten the correct call.

7/12/17 —— Bellinger Out On Interference/The Cheater Did It Last Year Too (LOL)
He was within the baselines. If he was running full or partially to the left of the baseline, into the diamond and the ball were to hit him he would be automatically out.
That being said, it’s a shame the Red Sox won. They play well but I could never EVER root for them. Dave Roberts took Rich Hill out too soon IMHO.

(Joe Adcock was a teammate of Aaron's who had a big part at the end of Pittsburgh's Harvey Haddix 12 innings.
Haddix will always be remembered for taking a perfect game into the 13th inning against the Milwaukee Braves on May 26, 1959. Haddix retired 36 consecutive batters in 12 innings, essentially relying on two pitches: fastball and slider. However, Braves pitcher Lew Burdette was also pitching a shutout, which was seriously jeopardized on only three occasions: the 3rd inning, when a base-running blunder negated three consecutive singles; the 9th, when Pittsburgh finally advanced a runner as far as third base; and the 10th, when pinch hitter Dick Stuart came within a few feet of ending Burdette's shutout bid with a two-run homer.
A fielding error by third baseman Don Hoak ended the perfect game in the bottom of the 13th, with the leadoff batter for Milwaukee, Félix Mantilla, reaching first base. Mantilla later advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Eddie Mathews, which was followed by an intentional walk to Hank Aaron.
JOE ADCOCK then hit an apparent home run, ending the no-hitter and the game. However, in the confusion, Aaron left the basepaths and was passed by Adcock for the second out and the Braves won 2-0. Eventually the hit was changed from a home run to a double by a ruling from National League president Warren Giles; only Mantilla's run counted, for a score of 1-0, but the Pirates and Haddix still lost.
