When I was in Korea I was like Fatty Arbuckle in a candy store, but looking back I could’ve easily quadrupled it and not feel the effect. Just thinking about it now wears me out. The honeymoon period is the same way.

I was raised Catholic in the 50s, went in Navy in 56 and after boot camp ‘disovered’ Tijuana. Then it was aboard ship and a Westpac cruise and I made up for 17 years of ‘sainthood’ in 6 mos.... Luckily the only thing that ‘saved’ me from complete exhaustion etc was we normally only spent a few days in port at a time...
Probably would have ‘killed’ myself had I been on shore duty during that period.
Wouldn’t trade a moment of it though....
