There is probably a clause that says to get the money she won’t be able to work anywhere else during the term of the contract...

meaning...

When she goes somewhere else (if she does, that is), the new network will buy out the NBC contract.

I doubt NBC will lose the $69 million. I don’t see her retiring entirely.
