You’re a young whippsnapper.

I used to sit in the bleachers for 65 cents and watch Ellis Kinder as the Red Sox ace reliever. ⚾️⚾️

You ARE an old-timer!

Back in those days, did they have a "grandstand pass" in the bleacher section?

During the 1970s, if I paid my $1.75 to get to the bleachers, I could get a "grandstand pass" for fifty cents more and wander around the grandstand. Technically it was standing room but you could grab any empty seat and in those days, there were plenty of empty seats. I'd keep my eye on the businessmen in the box seats as they would tend to leave games early to beat traffic. So often by the eighth inning, I'd usually be in the front rows right behind the dugout.

Hot dogs and soda were fifty cents, pretzels and popcorn for 35 cents or so. Beer...I think it was 75 cents and when I got to be 14 or 15, they started selling it to me in the stands. They typically didn't card in those days but you still had to be cool about it. I'd point to the empty seat next to me, making like my dad was sitting there, hand over the money and the vendor would place the beer under the seat and hustle away. So long as they didn't hand it to you personally, they had no problem selling it that way.
