Other than Feinstein’s advanced age and the possibility she could be replaced by a Republican governor(assuming Cox wins), I don't understand why a Republican would want to keep her in office vs. a leftist loon who would make Bernie Sanders seem moderate. He would have no seniority and would alienate independent and moderate voters with his rhetoric, red meat to leftists but anathema to others. A sort of reverse Pat Buchanan.

That's it! That's the whole idea. If de Leon, the Communist racist gets elected, he'll eventually gain seniority. Only a fool would vote for an up and coming CA Communist star like de León. In addition, Feinstein is looking like the walking dead. Her days are numbered in politics and quite likely this world.

My vote went to Feinstein.
