Maybe; maybe not. In the last Maryland Governor’s race the Republican candidate (Larry Hogan) “had no chance”. But the ‘RATS actually went too far and actually enacted a “rain tax”. Yes, they actually did that...passed a special “rain” tax on the square footage all improvements (e.g., buildings, parking areas, driveways, patios, sheds) that stood between rain falling directly onto bare earth. Now we have Governor Hogan and no longer have a rain tax.

When will the California ‘RATS similarly go too far...or have they already?
