After hurricane Irma hit Tampa and crossed the state it still did alot of damage. Lots of standing water and trees down everywhere. Yeah, that’s the part we love. Non stop rain for days with humidity around 100%. Another day in paradise with no water to shower in and hard to find water to drink, yeah that’s the ticket!
If these people had any sense they turn around.

Florida doesn’t have mountains. Mexico does, very high ones on the west coast. Those will shred the hurricane after landfall. Plus, Florida is a narrow peninsula with warm water all around it. This storm is going right into the heart of dry Mexican terrain.

It’s not even forecast out past 3 days. You have to understand geography and the nature of hurricanes.

Patricia was a 200 mph Cat 5 hurricane back in 2015. This map shows how quickly it dissipated upon landfall:
