I got a flu shot for the first time in 2000 and had a horrible reaction to it. I had symptoms for about 6 months (migraine headaches, confusion, vision and gastric problems). My Aunt got her shot from the same Doctor that year and came down with a very bad case of the shingles. I never got another flu shot.

Last winter I got the flu. It was exhausting for 2 weeks but I preferred the flu to the shot.

The flu shot is for the “public health” meaning not your health. As with most vaccines, the idea is to prevent a widespread outbreak at the cost of personal risk to the individual.

I’d never get a flu shot. But, then, I am not on the subway or sleeping in a dorm.
